FIFA is rightly proud of the work it does to support football development in Palestine. We call on FIFA to condemn the demolitions in Umm Al Khair, and to defend the right of Palestinians throughout the Occupied Territories to live lives free of criminal terror and deprivation.
AFRICAN National Congress (ANC) members and leaders should not travel to Israel as the party is in solidarity with the people of Palestine, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe said on Monday.

A major boycott of Israel victory has been achieved in Durban, South Africa. One of the largest international trade unions, the Public Services International (PSI), at its recent World Congress (27-30 November) voted to fully support and advance the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel campaign. The PSI World Congress also adopted a resolution to promote and partake-in the annual awareness-raising initiative, the annual Israel Apartheid Week (IAW) campaign.
The PSI represents 20 million workers globally who deliver public services in 150 countries.
At the opening plenary of the African National Congress' (ANC) 3rd International Solidarity Conference, former Dutch anti-apartheid activist, Adri Nieuwhof, presented a statement on behalf of over 150 former internationalanti-apartheid activists (from more than 19 countries and belonging to over 35 organizations) to the ANC, South Africa's ruling party. AGRICULTURE MEC Gerrit van Rensburg has decided against taking a trip to Israel after the Department of International Relations and Co-operation told him visits by government officials to that country had to be kept to a minimum, his spokesman, Wouter Kriel, has said.
Van Rensburg and two others were due to leave on Saturday, but Van Rensburg had decided to stay after the department’s letter was received on Friday, said Kriel.
