The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) today welcomed Dublin City Council’s unanimous passing of a motion calling for an end to both the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza in which at least 184 Palestinian have been killed and the Israeli-imposed illegal siege of the coastal strip, as well as calling upon the Irish government to push for an arms embargo and trade sanctions on Israel.  The motion also condemned the use of Administrative Detention, a form of internment without trial, by the Israeli state.

Glasgow, United Kingdom -On the final day of the Scottish football season, one of the biggest crowds in Europe turned up to watch Celtic FC being crowned champions.

Press release: Following the events of yesterday, and the continuing refusal of the Israeli government to comply with international law, the Irish Ship to Gaza campaign is now calling on the Irish government to take the following concrete actions against the state of Israel:

(1) Suspend Israel from the Euromed Agreement, which gives Israel special trading status;

(2) End all arms trade with Israel;

(3) Take steps to ensure that no Irish state-funded institution engages in any cultural, academic, or economic cooperation with the state
