BDS: Decolonizing hope!

December 22, 2020
/ By /

In our latest video, Palestinians from diverse backgrounds and ages all say: BDS means hope to achieve our rights. Your support nourishes this decolonized hope.

We remain hopeful, against all odds. But our hope is not a product of wishful thinking or any delusions about the challenges ahead, as that hope would only prolong our colonial situation.

Our hope is rooted in our Palestinian people’s rich heritage of struggle, in the Palestinian concensus behind the BDS movement’s thoughtful globalized resistance to oppression, and in your inspiring solidarity with our struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

We are hopeful because your support for the BDS movement has multiplied its impact in recent years, further weakening Israel’s regime of occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid.

Our hope, as our latest video shows, is decolonized! Check it out! We’ve asked Palestinians, from diverse backgrounds and ages, what BDS meant to them, and they reflected the near consensus supporting BDS. Refugees; veteran boycott activists from the first Intifada; grandmothers; youth and college students from Acre, Nablus and Tulkarm; a priest; and the head of the Gaza fishermen’s committees, all answered in unison: BDS means hope to achieve our rights.

More than ever, we need your generous support as we face a brutal Israeli regime that is allocating massive financial, diplomatic, political, intelligence and propaganda resources in fighting the BDS movement.

Their colonial project requires instilling despair in the heads of the colonized. Our liberation project necessitates decolonizing our minds with strategic, impactful, and hopeful resistance. BDS is at the core of this beautiful resistance.

Your support nourishes this decolonized hope.
