We Will Not Be Silenced

Our movement for freedom, justice and equality for Palestinians is facing escalating attacks. Their war on BDS is failing, but we need your support more than ever to defend Palestinian rights.

In this year, our BDS movement for freedom, justice and equality for the Palestinian people has faced an escalation in attacks by apartheid-Israel and its anti-Palestinian supporters.

In many countries, in particular in Europe and the U.S., an ominous climate of bullying and repression has resulted from the proliferation of the so-called IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism that conflates legitimate opposition to Israel’s regime of apartheid, colonialism and illegal occupation with antisemitism.

Palestine solidarity activists, associations and the BDS movement at large are smeared, denied access to public spaces and funding, censored by providers of social media platforms, and persecuted with frivolous lawsuits by Israel’s lawfare organizations. Restrictive policies and legislation are passed to demonize or criminalize consumer boycotts as well as divestment and ethical procurement by public institutions.

We need your support now more than ever to defend Palestinian rights

and our collective freedom of expression.

The good news is, their war on BDS is failing.

In the U.S., only a fraction (25%) of the 202 bills introduced to suppress our advocacy for Palestinian rights have become law because of strong grassroots and civil liberties opposition.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) passed a landmark decision in June, ruling that calling for boycotts of Israeli goods falls under the freedom of expression protected by the European Convention on Human Rights.

UN human rights experts have intervened against the undemocratic and anti-Palestinian motions passed against the BDS movement in Germany, requesting the German government to ensure that BDS groups and supporters “are able to carry out their legitimate work in a safe and enabling environment, and without undue restrictions.”

Hundreds of Jewish and Israeli academics, including renowned scholars of Jewish history and the Holocaust, have also condemned parliamentary resolutions in Germany and France that equate anti-Zionism and BDS with antisemitism.

In the UK, the Supreme Court has upheld the right of public pension funds to divest from companies complicit in Israeli apartheid rejecting government’s unlawful restrictions, while a Spanish court rejected an Israel lobby group’s frivolous lawsuit against the City of Cadiz’ cancellation of an Israeli embassy- sponsored film event.

With your support, we will continue to grow our nonviolent BDS movement, build stronger alliances with global justice movements, and provide hope and inspiration to Palestinians as we continue on the path to liberation.
