80% of MESA’s participating members voted in favor of resolution in solidarity with Palestinians seeking education rights
The MESA membership voted by 80% to endorse the Palestinian call to boycott Israeli academic institutions complicit in Israeli apartheid.
The 2800-member strong association voted to advance a motion to the full MESA membership supporting the Palestinian-led BDS movement and the institutional boycott of complicit Israeli universities following a thorough process of engagement over many years.
Statements in support of Palestinian rights, many advocating for BDS, have been endorsed by more than 350 academic departments, programs, centers, unions and societies and garnered nearly 24,000 signatures from scholars, researchers, students and university staff worldwide.
