#NoTechForApartheid Organizing Toolkit

As Israeli military occupation forces were bombing Palestinian homes, clinics, and schools in besieged Gaza and threatening to push Palestinian families from their homes in occupied Jerusalem in May 2021, Google and Amazon Web Services signed a $1.2 billion contract to provide cloud technology to the Israeli government and military, known as Project Nimbus. By doing so, Amazon and Google are helping to make Israeli apartheid more efficient, more violent, and even deadlier for Palestinians.

Through this contract, Google and Amazon Web Services are serving and empowering Israeli agencies -- ministries, military, corporations and institutions -- that constitute Israel’s regime of settler-colonialism, apartheid and occupation and facilitate violence, dispossession and ethnic cleansing against Indigenous Palestinians. Tech corporations such as Google and Amazon are also complicit in denial of workers rights, surveillance and aiding militarization across the world.

Civil society groups, people of conscience, as well as workers and shareholders of the two companies are coming together in this growing campaign to demand that Amazon and Google end the Project Nimbus contract. This intersectional and global effort for justice links effective Palestine solidarity with struggles for workers rights and against surveillance and militarization.
