#PACBIYearinReview 2021: An Unprecedented Year of Support for Palestinian Rights.

As Israel’s apartheid regime escalated its violent oppression of Palestinians, scholars, academic departments, artists, cultural institutions, star athletes, sports teams, unions, queer filmmakers, LGBTQIA+ collectives, students and other grassroots groups responded with unprecedented solidarity.

The year 2021 will be remembered as a year of unprecedented worldwide support for the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

As Israel’s apartheid regime escalated its violent oppression of Palestinians, scholars, academic departments, artists, cultural institutions, star athletes, sports teams, unions, queer filmmakers, LGBTQIA+ collectives, students and other grassroots groups responded with unprecedented solidarity.

This collective stand for Palestinian rights was an outright rejection of Israel’s cynical use of the arts, culture, queer liberation, sports, and academia as cover for its regime of military occupation, settler colonialism and apartheid.

The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) thanks all those who took courageous, principled stands, at times at great personal expense, refused to be complicit in Israel’s system of injustice, and organized acts of effective solidarity to challenge Israel’s apartheid regime. You’ve helped us get closer to seeing our fundamental rights respected and the light of freedom on the horizon.

May 2022 bring even more unprecedented support.

Below is a sampling of this breakthrough year for Palestinian rights.
