The new owners of South Africa's major toy retailer, "Reggies", Mr. Christian Larsen and Mr. Mohsin Mia, have gone on record confirming that Reggies Toy Stores have ended and no more have a relationship with the Jewish National Fund (JNF), an Israeli para-statal directly involved in Israeli human rights abuses against the Palestinian people.
Stop The Jewish National Fund (StopTheJNF) is an international BDS campaign (see below this email for some StopTheJNF campaign actions and victories from around the world). The local South African chapter of the StopTheJNF was initiated and is led by a group of concerned Jewish South Africans, representing a growing number of Jews who are increasingly opposed to Israel's discriminatory policies and the JNF’s complicity in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
The South African toy store “Reggies” is knowingly sponsoring an Israeli para-statal organisation, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), which is directly involved in the forced removal and dispossession of the Palestinian people.
Despite numerous appeals to the director of Reggies, Mr Issy Zimmerman (who also owns the South African franchise of Toys’R’us) explaining and detailing the complicity of the JNF in Israeli human rights abuses, he not only refused to end his involvement with the JNF (a recipient of Reggies’ financial support) but threatened that he would intensify it.
