On Tuesday December 20th, Vredesactie filed an official complaint at the Ghent police office against technology company Barco. Barco developed a flight simulator for the Israeli air force, but never requested an export permission, although Belgian legislation on arms trade requires this. “Illegal arms trade”, says Vredesactie.

Barco, a Belgian technology company that designs and develops visualization solutions, developed a sofisticated military flight simulator together with Israeli defense giant Elbit.

Amsterdam/Antwerp/Brussels July 11, 2011 -- Today Campagne tegen Wapenhandel, Vredesactie and Quaker Council for European Affairs launched a website analysing arms trade and military relations between Europe and Israel. The website gives information about the nature and extent of these relations and about relevant arms trade regulations.

As an important economic partner of Israel, Europe could use its position to promote a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During the National Complaints Day, 400 Belgians filed a complaint against the Israeli firm Agrexco. Agrexco is Israel’s main exporter of agricultural goods from the illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The Belgian airport of Liège is one of the main hubs for its distribution network across Europe.
