Palestinians Salute Unprecedented Wave of Protest and Divestment Camps on US Campuses

This is precisely the type of peaceful disruption of business-as-usual that is needed to help stop Israel’s #GazaGenocide and divest from and sanction Israeli apartheid.

Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) is deeply inspired by the unprecedented wave of protest camps sprouting up on campuses across the US against Israel’s #GazaGenocide and university complicity.

The selfless determination of students seeking to rid their campuses of ties to Israel’s regime of apartheid and genocide against millions of Palestinians, in the face of shameful repression by university administrations and police, gives us hope.

The faculty members and alumni taking a stand in support of the student protests, including via boycotts, donor strikes, resignations and walkouts at Columbia University, give us hope.

Students and faculty members know well the key role the US plays in providing material and political support for Israel’s #GazaGenocide and its underlying 76-year-old regime of settler-colonial apartheid. They have researched and documented the complicity of their own universities and are now saying, “We will not stop, we will not rest. Disclose. Divest.”

This current historic wave builds on the mobilizations, academic boycott and divestment motions, encampments, occupations, walkouts, and teach-ins by students and faculty throughout the US and across the world over the past months.

This is precisely the type of peaceful disruption of business-as-usual that is needed to help stop Israel’s #GazaGenocide and divest from and sanction Israeli apartheid.

We have no doubt that the student and faculty mobilizations and the calls to end all ties with Israel’s regime of military occupation, apartheid and genocide will only continue to grow. We are honored to have you by our side in our struggle for freedom, justice and equality.
