Complicity disrupted for genocidal Israel’s F-35 fighter jets

Grassroots movements and civil society are disrupting complicity: In October, around the world, activists took part in the Global Week of Action to “ground” genocidal Israel’s F-35 fighter jets. The many countries involved in building and purchasing the US-produced F-35 jets are complicit in Israel’s genocide, apartheid and illegal occupation.

US

Bellingham, Washington

Activists rallied outside the Janicki Industries factory demanding it end its contracts with Lockheed Martin, the jets’ manufacturer.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Activists marched through the center of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the home city of Howmet Aerospace, which provides Lockheed Martin with titanium and aluminium parts that are crucial for building F-35s.

Minneapolis

Outside the Howmet New Brighton Factory in Minnesota, protesters demanded the company end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. Howmet develops F-35 parts.

Japan

Protestors in Osaka, Hiroshima and Tokyo took to the streets to demand Japan leave the F-35 program.

Italy

Activists protested in Milan against Italy’s contracts of over $7 billion to buy F-35s from Lockheed Martin.

Netherlands

Protesters marched against GKN Fokker in Pappendracht, which produces doors and electrical material for F-35s.

Portugal

Activists in Lisbon protested against Portugal’s Base das Lajes being used as a transit base for F-35s on their way to Israel.

Spain

In Navarra, activists protested at the factory of MTorres, which provides Lockheed Martin with wings and other parts for F-35s, demanding it cancel its contract.

UK

Activists in Brough, Rochester, Cheltenham, Havant and Sheffield protested outside the offices of four companies complicit in the production of F-35s: BAE Systems, Forged Solutions Group, Ultra Precision Control and Lockheed Martin.

Australia

At Fremantle port, people power disrupted the activities of Maersk, a shipping company deeply complicit in Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Maersk frequently transports F-35 parts and other military materiel for use by genocidal Israel.

Around the world, people are taking action to disrupt the supply chain that Israel so desperately needs in committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against Palestinians. People power is escalating, and as Israel becomes increasingly seen as a rogue state, we must demand those who supply or develop weapons or military materiel for Israel immediately cancel their contracts.

The BDS movement, with its tens of millions of supporters in over 120 countries worldwide, will not stop until we end Israel’s genocide, and until Palestinians everywhere can exercise self-determination and enjoy freedom, justice and equality.

Disrupt complicity now.
