ICC: Prosecute Apartheid Israel’s War Criminals
The Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), the largest coalition in Palestinian society, warmly welcomes the lawsuit initiated by Palestinian human rights organisations with the International Criminal Court (ICC) calling for arrest warrants to be issued against Israeli leaders for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. The organisations are represented by Emmanuel Daoud, who had successfully filed a lawsuit with the ICC against Russian leaders for war crimes in Ukraine.
As this lawsuit states: “There is no place for double standards in International Justice.” Beyond hypocrisy, the ICC is seen in the Global South as a tool of Western governments. We call for maximizing international pressure on the ICC to fulfill its duty to urgently stop Israel’s #GazaGenocide. All Israeli leaders, including President Isaac Herzog, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and “Defence” Minister Yoav Gallant, must face justice for their roles in the genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip.
Israel’s entire settler-colonial and apartheid regime, armed, funded and shielded from international accountability by the US and Europe, is enabled by complicit states, institutions and corporations that must all be held to account.
