BNC Statement

On Land Day, spread solidarity with BDS

Statement issued by the Palestinian BDS National Committee on the occasion of Land Day.

Today, on Land Day and the 2nd anniversary of Gaza’s Great March of Return, we mark decades of resistance to Israel’s colonization and apartheid. As we struggle against Israel’s repression, plus COVID-19, the need for meaningful solidarity in the form of #BDS is even more urgent.

Israel’s far-right government is escalating its oppression of the Indigenous Palestinians, especially in the Gaza ghetto, even as the coronavirus poses a grave new threat.

Despite the crisis, we remain determined to stay on our land and realize our rights. We see hope in BDS’s growth and recent achievements - Microsoft dropping AnyVision, 140+ queer filmmakers pledging not to participate in TLVFest, and the new UN settlement database.

This global crisis is a time to spread solidarity, including through BDS, and to renew our commitment to building a world without racism and oppression, where community, care, and justice are prioritized above weapons and corporate greed.
