Israel dari awal sehingga sekarang masih berleluasa mengekalkan rejim jajahan dan apartheid ke atas rakyat Palestin. Malangnya pihak berkuasa antarabangsa enggan bertindak atau tangan terikat untuk menghentikan kekejaman ini.
Namun, pada tahun 2005 aktivis Palestin mula bersatu menyeru agar rakyat global bertindak balas terhadap perjuangan Palestin untuk kebebasan, keadilan dan kesaksamaan. Gerakan ini adalah dalam bentuk boikot, pelupusan dan sekatan (BDS) sebagai satu bentuk tekanan tanpa kekerasan ke atas Israel.
Pergerakan BDS telah dilancarkan oleh 170 kesatuan Palestin, rangkaian pelarian, pertubuhan wanita, persatuan profesional, jawatankuasa penentangan popular dan badan masyarakat sivil Palestin yang lain.
BDS Malaysia adalah sebahagian daripada gerakan global ini.

Founded in 2012, the Services and Research Centre Palestine foundation, docP, is committed to supporting, uniting and strengthening the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in the Netherlands. In 2009, the ‘Working together for Palestine’ network started the BDS campaign in the Netherlands. DocP was founded to provide professional support to the network.
