The day after ceasefire: Escalate pressure to cease the genocide and help us dismantle apartheid

A ceasefire, however, is only the most important first step to end the genocide against the 2.3 million Palestinians in the illegally occupied and besieged Gaza Strip. Without massive pressure, it may constitute a continuation of a less visible form of genocide that Israel and the US hope will provoke less regional and global outrage, boycotts and sanctions.

Students and faculty across the world - from the US to Australia, from the UK to France - are rising up in what is rapidly escalating to a global mobilization focusing on Israel’s Western-enabled genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip and, crucially, on the complicity of institutions in it. It is an urgent wave of defiance and determination of a new generation that refuses a world of unhinged brutality, impunity, racism and oppression, whether targeting Palestinians or oppressed communities everywhere.

Occupied Palestine, 24 September 2024 – Israel is expanding its criminal aggression from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and now to Lebanon, passing through Yemen, Iraq and Syria. In a matter of a few days, Israel has ferociously targeted hundreds of villages and towns in Lebanon, killing hundreds, wounding thousands, and inflicting massive damage to civilian homes and infrastructure.
