This July, we launched the 'No Room for Genocide' campaign, calling on global civil society to pressure governments to amend immigration and visa policies to align with international legal standards and obligations. Across the world, the demand for ending Israel’s genocide in Gaza and holding it accountable for its atrocity crimes are growing. International law is clear on legal obligations of Third States to end all forms of complicity in the commission of Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity (including apartheid), and “plausible” genocide. These include the responsibility to ensure war criminals are denied passage or haven by Third States and prosecuted for their crimes. Countering the wilful negligence of states in upholding this responsibility and responding to the Palestinian civil society call to ensure there is No Room for Genocide, small businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector as well as solidarity groups are taking courageous actions. Coastal and flag states have an obligation to stop complicity in illegal maritime transfers for Israel

Ending the complicity of states, corporations, and institutions in Israel’s ongoing, live-streamed genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza is the most effective form of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle to end the genocide and dismantle Israel’s 76-year-old regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid. 

The indictment of Israeli leaders by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated against Palestinians in Gaza, alongside the ongoing genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), is a watershed in the Palestinian quest for long overdue justice and accountability. The ICC arrest warrants against Israeli leaders are expected to usher in a wave of domestic and international prosecution initiatives that promise to hold complicit Israelis accountable for the ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza, as well as for the decades-old illegal occupation and the crime against humanity of apartheid.

Corporations that are implicated in the commission of international crimes connected to Israel’s unlawful occupation, racial segregation, and apartheid regime - within or beyond the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 - are all complicit and must be held accountable. Direct complicity includes military, logistical, intelligence, financial, and infrastructure support. The corporations and their boards of directors and executives may face criminal liability for this complicity.

By adopting this EIP, the entity affirms that it does not profit from or provide capital to corporations that do not conform to international standards of socially, ethically, and legally responsible business operations or from activities materially inconsistent with its values, including its ethical investment principles.
