The Congress of South African Trade Union is pleased to announce that its members, dock workers belonging to the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) achieved a victory last night when they stood firm by their decision not to offload the Johanna Russ, a ship that was carrying Israeli goods to South Africa.

UK BDS activists national day of action to boycott Israel

By Laura Miller [politics.co.uk] 7 February 2009 - Demonstrators are planning nationwide protests today to boycott the sale of Israeli goods on UK high-streets.

The national Boycott Israeli Goods (BIG) campaign, led by a coalition of pro-Palestine and anti-war groups, aims to impact on Valentines Day sales of flowers, many of which Israel exports to the UK.

Maltese civil society: Suspend EU-Israel agreement

Maltese Civil Society Organizations issued the following statement on 30 January 2009:

In view of the recent three-week premeditated campaign of bombing of the population of Gaza and its infrastructure by the State of Israel which came after a crippling, illegal two-year siege, we, 14 member organizations of SKOP, the Maltese national platform of development non-governmental organizations, call for a suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
