The vehicles come in several types, but all are distinguished by having very good off-road capabilities for trucks, with 7.1 ton payload capacity off-road and an on-road payload capacity of up to 15 tons. In order to fit into cargo aircraft like the C-130, the trucks can fold down part of the cab, reducing the vehicle’s height.

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Israel's defense minister wants to buy a U.S. military system to protect its southern towns and strategic facilities from Gaza-fired rockets.

Ehud Barak will ask the Pentagon to sell a Vulcan-Phalanx cannon and radar system to Israel at a cost of $25 million, Israel's daily Ha'aretz reported Tuesday.

20 April 2009 -- Thousands of people have gathered in Geneva from all corners of the globe to attend the Durban Review Conference.

 

Despite official efforts to exclude the voices of the victims, it has brought together many civil society actors struggling against racial discrimination, including those working to end Israel’s regime of racism and racial discrimination against the Palestinians. The latter have just completed a two-day Israel Review Conference that was held on 18-19 April 2009.
