[IAI] - The Plug-In Optronic Payload 300 - Long Range (POP-300LR Observer), produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), has been selected by a European customer for use in a costal surveillance program. The POP-300LR will be integrated with radar and will provide the customer with 24/7, all weather long range observation and surveillance capabilities. The POP-300LR is the ultimate solution for ground applications such as site control, border security, and coastal surveillance, as well as for naval platforms and aerostats that demand cost effective long range object engagement.

"The POP-300LR, the ultimate solution for ground applications and naval platforms and aerostats, is an excellent product, and we are proud that it will be part of this coastal surveillance program," said Shaul Shahar, General Manager of IAI's TAMAM Division. "It is a product that can be integrated into a variety of systems, and this diversity is what makes our entire line of POP products, including of course the POP-300LR, a success".

The POP-300LR has been successfully field tested under day, night, and adverse weather conditions, and demonstrated superior performance compared to several other stabilized payloads and pan & tilt systems. The most significant advantages of the POP-300LR are its long range performance and its low weight and high stabilization. This combination of factors allows for commonality of use for many different applications, including moving and vibrating platforms.
The POP-300LR "gimbal" and "slice" architecture ensures high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and low life cycle costs.

The POP-300LR is part of the advanced observation and targeting POP payloads family. More than a thousand POP payloads are deployed with leading military and security forces worldwide.
