The Mini-Typhoon is a lightweight, stabilized, remote-controlled naval gun system, especially designed for fast maneuvering patrol boats. The system provides day and night observation, operation and accurate firing capability. The Mini-Typhoon is already in use with a number of navies around the world, including the US Navy. The US Navy also already deploys larger Typhoon systems made by Rafael.

Rafael has won the tender as a subcontractor of global defense manufacturer BAE Systems plc (LSE: BAE).

Rafael VP and head of the naval and electronic warfare directorate Giora Katz said, "Winning the tender expressed the continuing belief of the US fleet in Rafael systems in general and the Typhoon in particular.
