Gary Robbins [College Life] 8 February 2010 - Twelve people were arrested this evening during a raucous lecture at UC Irvine where Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren came to talk about U.S.-Israel relations.  

Eyewitnesses told Stop the Wall that yesterday night at 1 am some 10 military jeeps, hummers and an armoured bus belonging to the Israeli military and their intelligence services invaded Ramallah and came to the Stop the Wall offices. They raided the offices and searched them for three hours. They confiscated computer hard disks, laptops, video cameras and paper documentation, CDs, video cassettes.

BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights has released new working paper under the title: “Principles and Mechanisms to Hold Business Accountable for Human Rights Abuses: Potential Avenues to Challenge Corporate Involvement in Israel’s Oppression of the Palestinian People.”   The paper is authored by U.S. attorney Yasmine Gado.

Adri Nieuwhof [The Electronic Intifada] 5 February 2010 - French transport giants Veolia and Alstom are involved in the construction and running of a light rail line which connects West Jerusalem to several illegal settlements in or surrounding occupied Palestinian East Jerusalem.  

Anthony York [LA Times] 1 February 2010 - A group calling itself the Israel Divestiture Forum has filed an initiative with the attorney general that would require state pension funds to sever ties with Israeli companies or the Israeli government.   The measure was submitted by Sacramento resident Chris Yatooma, who works as the head of fiscal policy for the California Community Colleges chancellor’s office.

It was a busy Thursday night on the 28th of January in the big supermarket Albert Heijn in Utrecht (Holland). A group of Dutch activists surprised the management with a Freeze Flashmob in the middle of the shop.   Well, they were not really surprised that something happened, obviously they had been told that something was about to happen, cause the police was outside the supermarket and the shop attendents were definitely expecting something.
